

Bebe Lavonne Young Granger passed away March 1st after a brief illness. Bebe, also known as Bonnie, was born in Young Township, Dickie County, North Dakota, September 18, 1927, to Alice Mary Farnsworth Young and John Christopher Warfield Young. She moved to Cocoa as a child and was proud to be a Central Brevard resident for 80 years.
Bonnie worked and volunteered well into her eighties. Early on she was a switchboard operator for Southern Bell. Then she worked many years at Cocoa City Hall as secretary to the mayor and Town Council, followed by extensive time at RCA, and GE (at both Patrick AFB and KSC). She retired briefly before accepting a job with the Brevard County Bar Association Bebe finally retired from her last job as Triage Specialist at Senior Resource Alliance Council when she was 84.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Walter J. (Dick) Granger, son Walter J. Granger, Jr., and infant daughter Vera Alice Granger. She is survived by daughter Sandra Taulbee; five grandchildren: Daniel Granger, Sean Taulbee, John Taulbee, Julia Granger, Chelsea Wise and three great-grandchildren who “thrilled her with their unconditional love”: Alex Granger, Dani Granger, and Erik Taulbee. She also leaves behind sisters Martha Branning and Janice Granger as well as a great many nieces and nephews.
