She was born in Charleston, West Virginia on April 3rd, 1938. She was the youngest of 10 siblings.
She, along with our father, came to Cocoa, FL in 1959. She was a homemaker and worked at a shop in Downtown Cocoa named Anthony's, after she became an employee at Publix in the Deli. They had several business ventures throughout their marriage including a fire extinguishing company, an amusement company that rented pinball machines, arcades and pool tables to Local businesses and they owned and operated ABetter Pet World in Byrd Plaza for many years.
They also worked with Hacienda Girls Ranch in Melbourne, FL. She operated a call center and took in donations for the home for at risk girls and did a yearbook every year for them. After our parents’ divorce, she continued with Hacienda for a few more years and during this time she met the love of her life Jerry A Thompson, they enjoyed traveling amongst other things and the grandkids. She opened a craft store in Byrd Plaza called Country Craft Corner with her friend. She also became a notary and did loan closings for Dyal Processing. Jerry passed away in July 2001. Her grandsons kept her busy with basketball, sometimes the whole team would be at her house in between school and practice. She then started volunteering at their school RFM Christian Academy which turned into a full-time job, one we know she loved. She enjoyed talking and helping the kids and being Dr Parkers Secretary. We are forever grateful for the time and love she was shown there.
She was a beloved mother to Terri Lee Dyal of Cocoa FL, Donnie Lee Ellis (deceased) and Leslie Mae Ellis of Cocoa, FL
She was a loving MawMaw to Melissa M. Lemois (Ron) of Port St. John FL; Melinda J Farrar (Tom) of Orlando FL; Shawn Lee Robbins (deceased) and Shaquille D. Robbins (Citrene) of Melbourne FL.
She was a Great MawMaw to Ky Farrar (Julie) and Mayson Farrar (Carlos) of Orlando FL; JoLee Mae Robbins of Palm Bay FL and Laila Robbins of Melbourne FL.
She was also a Great MawMaw to Shawn’s fur babies we inherited, D’Jango and Sid, and our family dog Toby (deceased). Toby is in her lap now.
We are eternally grateful for the time we had with you. You will remain forever in our hearts and by our sides. Thank you, Momma, for everything, there would not be ANY of us without YOU. Our mom, our momma, our mawmaw, our best friend.
