Charles McDonald, 85, passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in Merritt Island. He was the beloved husband of Janice “Betty”. He is survived by his children Jill (Jack Fulk) of Gaithersburg, MD, Janice (Robby Smith) of Vero Beach, FL, Jeanne (David Linehan) of Merritt Island and Rick McDonald (Helga) of Frederick, MD. Proud grandfather of eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. His was preceded in death by his daughter Susan and grandson David.
Charles was born and raised in Jamaica, NY. He joined the Navy during World War II at the age of 17. He spent his career in the Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C. until his retirement
in 1981. He spent his retirement years with his family in Vero Beach and Merritt Island and his summers in Maryland.
Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 20th, at 11am at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home, Merritt Island, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Vitas Hospice of Brevard County or to your local hospice.
