

Dorothy Clara Goldammer Lueders was called to her heavenly home on January 16th, 2025. Memorial services will be held at 11am on February 1st, 2025 at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection Cocoa Beach. We invite those that cannot attend in person to watch online, https://www.goresurrection.org/live-stream. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be given to Mission Central (missioncentral.us).
Dorothy was born on December 20th, 1932 in Jefferson City Missouri, daughter of Edwin and Alma Goldammer. Following graduation from Jefferson City High School in Jefferson City MO, she attended St John’s College in Winfield, Kansas. She graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in 1952. Dorothy taught elementary school from 1952 to 1954 at Zion Lutheran School in Omaha, Nebraska. Dorothy was married to Carl Lueders on June 27th, 1954.
Dorothy volunteered in many capacities in the communities she lived. She served on the library board, helped with church secretary work, taught Sunday school, Bible classes, sang in the choir, and served on the altar guild in the various Lutheran congregations she attended. She also taught English classes while living as a missionary in Japan. She was active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, serving as secretary, treasurer, and arranging programs for conferences and seminars, all while participating in the choir wherever she lived. Dorothy was also employed at JCPenney Catalog Ordering Center and the JCPenney Catalog Department. She worked at Marshalltown Community College in the maintenance department as secretary prior to her final retirement.
Dorothy is survived by her seven children and their respective spouses; Elizabeth Coleman, Ruth and Dave Bischoff, Grace and Arvin Bogaards, Jeanette and Mark Pasier, Kathryn Lueders and Jeremy Horne, Mark and Becye Lueders, and Carla Hinrichs. As well as 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters and 1 brother; Adele Bolen, Darlene Davis, and Leonard Goldammer; as well as many nieces and nephews.
