

Gerald Jack Greenway, 94, of Merritt Island Fla. died of natural causes on September 30, 2015 at the Brookdale Senior Living Center for Alzheimer’s Care. His wife of 61 years, Frances T. Greenway died in 2004. Jack is survived by his son, Glen Paul (Julia) Greenway of Merritt Island, grandson Jason (Ruth) Greenway, great granddaughter, Parker Greenway, great grandson, Logan Greenway, all of Tucson, Ariz.; half-sister Marie (Jim) Phillips of The Villages Orlando, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Judi and Bill Spillman of Rockledge Fla. as well as the staff at Brookdale for their years of support and care.
Mr. Greenway was born at home on April 23rd 1921 in Paterson NJ. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in July 1942 and was a recipient of the Navy Distinguished Flying Cross, Silver Star, WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Honorable Service Lapel Pin, Discharge Button, Aircrew Insignia, and Philippine Ribbon-Liberation for his service during WWII. He received an Honorable Discharge in October 1945.
Mr. Greenway was a Master Mason and former member of the Albert J. Russell Lodge No. 126 in Jacksonville Fla.
With assistance from the G.I. Bill that provided educational benefits to veterans, Mr. Greenway earned his BS in Business Administration from the University of Florida, Gainsville in 1953. Mr. Greenway helped establish the Kennedy Space Center GAO Auditing offices in 1963 and retired in 1993. He loved being surrounded by wildlife.
Mr. Greenway will be interred with his wife at Arlington National Cemetery. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601
