

Henry “Curtis” McCurley, 69, of Merritt Island, Florida, passed peacefully from this life on January 14th, 2026. Curtis was born on March 13, 1956, in Pensacola, Florida to the late John Harlod McCurley Sr. and Henrietta Elizabeth McCurley. Curtis was a dedicated business owner, operating his own underground utilities contracting and land development company, before retiring. His passions were plentiful. He was a proud Harley Davidson enthusiast, always hitting the open road on his motorcycle. He loved spending time on the water and cherished camping trips with loved ones.
He was a loving father and grandfather, known for his fearless spirit combined with kindness and generosity, always willing to help anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. McCurley Sr. and Henrietta E. McCurley, and his brother John H. McCurley Jr.
He is survived by his two children, John L. McCurley and Melissa McCurley Brown (Joshua), and his three granddaughters, Maddison, Kelsie, and Remi. He also leaves behind his brother Bill McCurley (Liz), sister Barbara Lindberg (Eric), girlfriend Tina, nephews Ian and Drew, and niece Stephanie.
His family and friends will remember him for his strength, warmth, and unwavering support.
A memorial service to celebrate Curtis’s life will be held Saturday, March 7th, 2026, at 2:00pm at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home located at 1360 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL 32953. Followed by graveside services at Florida Memorial Gardens Cemetery 5950 US-1 S, Rockledge, FL 32955.
