A viewing and celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 24th at Wylie-Baxley Funeral, 1360 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, Florida 32953. Burial will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge at 1:30, 5950 US-1. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Wounded Warrior Project.
Joe was born February 24, 1936 in Nashville, Tennessee to Jeff and Mary (Gardner) Beck. He graduated from Isaac Litton High School in 1954. He attended Tennessee Tech and University of Southern California before landing a position in the fledgling technology industry that he was so excited about in 1958. He retired from Interstate Electronics after 40 years of service where he was recognized for his outstanding work and dedication. Most importantly, he provided a great life for his family and developed lifelong friendships. On May 24, 1966 he married, the love of his life, Barbara Jean Brown. They were married for 32 years until her passing in 1998. Joe was an avid sports fan and in his earlier years played tennis on a regular basis. In his later years he found joy in his family and friends.
Joe is survived by his three sons, Stephen Craig Beck, and his wife Nancy and two grandchildren, Brandon and Danielle of Portland, OR; Patrick "Barry" Beck and his wife Sandy; three granddaughters, Kylie, Kendall, and Caitlyn of Longwood, FL; and Lance Anthony Beck and his wife Sabrina of Melbourne, FL. His twin brothers, Jerry and Terry Beck of Nashville, TN and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Mary Beck, and his wife Barbara Jean Beck (Brown) in 1998.
Joe will be remembered for his "fantastic" outlook on life, love for family and friends and charitable attitude.
