Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Laurie made her way to sunny Florida in 1985, where she became a treasured member of the Merritt Island community. Laurie was not just a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; she was the heart of our family. Her life was a testament to her faith in Christ, and she embodied love and kindness in every relationship she nurtured. As a local business owner, she poured her passion into numerous ventures throughout her life, leaving a legacy of hard work and dedication.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Herbert and Geraldine Romann, who were from Annandale, Minnesota. Laurie is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Hefley, and her loving sisters Teri, Nancy, Gail, and Chrissy, along with her brothers Bob and Russell. Her spirit will forever live on in her cherished children, Tina, (Joe), Eric, Lisa, Sara and (Thomas) who carry her love in their hearts. We also extend our gratitude to the Schrack,Deforge, and Springer families for their unwavering support during this difficult time.
Laurie’s legacy shines brightly through her adored grandchildren—Joey, (Amanda), Madison, (Chris),Kaitlin (Chris),Tristan, Trevor, Tyler, (Jessica), Alex, and Ace—each of whom brought her endless joy. She also held her great-grandchildren, Joseph, Emory, Riley, Raiden, Aaliyah and Elliott, close to her heart, showering them with a love that will always guide them.
Though we will profoundly miss Laurie's warmth and love, we find comfort in knowing that her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Laurie’s life will take place at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home, located at 1360 N. Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL. Join us on Friday, August 1st, at 5:00 PM to honor this remarkable woman and the love she shared with us all.
“Strength, and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She. Looketh well to the way of her household, and eateth not the blood of idleness. Her children arise up, and and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellect them all.“
