In his everyday life, he built a legacy of love, joy, kindness, hospitality and hard work. He was a true gentleman and an honorable man of integrity. His smile was broad and charming and he never lost sight of the importance of family and friends.
He graduated from South Broward High School in 1958 and maintained close friendships from those years throughout his life. He went on to Florida State University where he was a proud Theta Chi and graduated with undergraduate and graduate degrees, the first in his family to do so. The family moved to Albany, Georgia, where he worked in human resources at Brunswick Corporation in the early days of race and labor relations. The family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he worked for MacGregor Corporation and their daughter, Jan, was born in 1967, and then on to Nashville, Tennessee, where he worked for The Aladdin Corporation and son, Chris, was born in 1969.
The family moved to Brandon, Florida, in 1971, where he worked for The Florida Steel Corporation. In 1974, he began working for Eckerd Drug Company where he worked until 1988. He and Janyce then moved to Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where he worked for Kelly Services based there. He rose to the level of Executive Vice President and retired in 1998. They moved to Merritt Island, Florida where he began his favorite position, Papa, to two grandchildren, Michael and Gracie, and great grandson, Luke.
Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janyce; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Tim Dunn; daughter, Jan; son, Chris; grandson, Michael and his wife, Caroline and their son, Luke; granddaughter Gracie and her fiancé Tim McDonough.
