

Susan was born in Erie, PA and lived in Shreveport, LA, Los Angeles, CA, Richland, WA, La Porte, TX and most recently Merritt Island, FL. Susan was a former financial analyst with the U.S.A.F. and several aerospace companies supporting satellite systems, the space shuttle and the space station programs.
Susan avidly loved the outdoors and animals, and enjoyed paddling, bicycling, rock hounding, bird watching, fishing and boating. She was a volunteer animal rehabilitator with the Wildlife Center of Texas and was currently training to support the Sea Turtle Preservation Society. She also enjoyed antique collecting, stained glass craft work, and many other activities including home brewing and surf wax production. Most recently she was partnering the start up of "Tropical Tails" river tours. Susan was most at peace being on the water or at the beach.
She is survived by her husband John Hamilton; her daughter Melissa Herring and family; her son Jason Holst and family; her four legged kids Hannah and Duggan; father and mother in law Jack and Bobbie Hamilton; sister in law and husband Susan and Erik Deithorn; brother in law and wife Paul and Amy Hamilton.
Calling hours begin at Noon followed by a Celebration of Susan's Life at 1PM on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Wylie-Baxley Merritt Island Funeral Home. The family requests casual attire.
