Ann was born on April 30th, 1940 to loving parents, Catherine and Albert Lux in Shelby Ohio. After graduating from Shelby High School, Ann journeyed off to Minneapolis Minnesota to attend McConnell Airline School.
Following a national airline strike, Ann returned to Shelby, where she met her first husband, G. Blair Sims, Jr., and was married in October of 1965. Ann and Blair had two boys, Gordon Sims of Tempe Arizona and Michael Sims of Columbus Ohio. Ann and Blair were married for nearly 20 years.
After raising her two boys, and the amicable end of a first marriage, Ann operated a successful commercial and residential cleaning business. Ann was re-introduced to a life-long friend, James “Peachy” Korbas of Shelby Ohio. Ann and Jim were married and shared many happy and loving decades celebrating their blended family and the love they felt for their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ann threw the best Christmas Eve parties EVER. She loved being surrounded by the family and friends that she loved with all (and more) of her heart.
In 2010, Ann and Jim decided that they had shoveled plenty of snow for their lifetimes. Ann and Jim made the courageous move to Mesa, Arizona. They dived into the overabundant sun with remarkable excitement and energy.
You could find Ann and Jim at the Red Mountain Multigenerational Center taking Silver Sneakers classes, lifting weights or planning lunch with a new group of sun-worshipping friends. Ann and Jim enjoyed all the southwest had to offer. They spent time at the Grand Canyon, Sedona, San Diego and even spent the night in a haunted hotel in Bisbee, upon Ann’s request. Ann enjoyed her retirement years with Jim in their home in Mesa, Arizona.
Ann was predeceased by her parents Albert and Catherine Lux and the father of her boys, G. Blair Sims, Jr.
Ann is survived by her husband, James “Peachy” Korbas of Mesa, Az.; son Gordon Sims (Darrell Sennich) of Tempe Arizona; son Michael Sims (Gwen Sims), granddaughters Kaitlyn and Samantha Sims of Columbus, Ohio; Sister Louise Owens (Butch Owens) of Willard Ohio, Niece, ReNea Owens (Darrah Metz) of Hilliard, Ohio and Nephew, Brent Owens (Mary Owens) of Cleveland Ohio.
