Anne was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England on September 11, 1946 to Robert and Sylvia Parsons (nee Bailey). At the age of 4 her parents moved to Huddersfield where she spent the rest of her childhood. She became a lover of all things Yorkshire, particularly the scenery. Anne attended the Greenhead High School for girls and developed a keen interest in the violin, playing for the Huddersfield Youth Orchestra. Anne left Yorkshire at age 17 and went to college at the Langham Secretarial College in London in 1963. Although she left at a relatively young age, Anne always retained a great love for the culture and scenery of her beloved Yorkshire.
It was in London, on January 18, 1964 that she met John, who was then a student at Imperial College. They were married on August 20 1966 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. In 1970, after John had completed his studies, Anne and John moved to Eydon, Northants where they bought their first home. There, Anne worked at the Horton General Hospital in Banbury, Oxford where she continued to work until the birth of her son, Christopher in 1978. Shortly after the birth of her son, Anne and John decided to move to Mesa, AZ to pursue a career opportunity for John. They bought their second home, where they have lived for nearly 35 years, raising their son and building their lives together here in Mesa.
Anne was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and friend. She devoted her life to offering support and love to other people. Anne was most often happy to be in the background. Those who met her would likely describe her as quiet and unnassuming; however, those who knew her best appreciated her acerbic wit and wry sense of humor. What truly made Anne so special, was her unwavering love and support for those in her life. Her compassion was without bounds and she will be sorely missed.
