My college years were so much more enjoyable by having Momma Herrmann in my life. I loved the homemade food Cahren would come back with, especially freshman year. I will always have nothing but fond memories and love for her.

I miss her everyday.  I sometimes think, I have to call Chris and ask her something I was thinking about because she would know the answer.  
We had some really good times together and had many belly laughs and that is what I will continue to remember.

To Charlie, Cahren, Arron, Elise and family, I have known Chris since high school. She was such a wonderful, kind, caring, fun-loving person, whose presence will be deeply missed. I lost contact with her after high school, but we found each other again in 2009 on facebook, and became good friends again. I am deeply saddened by her passing, and I want you all to know that you will all be in my thoughts and prayers. May all of your wonderful memories help sustain you through this very difficult time. My first memory of Chris is when we heard Charlie was getting married to a beautiful girl.  I remember when Charl brought Chris to the house in the back and I could hear her telling him how she wanted the kitchen to look.  The Hughes kids were skipping up and down the neighborhood saying that their Uncle Charlie was marrying such a pretty girl, and they were all excited.  I got to know Chris a little better after Cahren was born and how happy she was when I took over a baby gift and she was just beaming while holding her newborn daughter.  She was always smiling and had a wonderful outlook on life.  I have fond memories of the times we used to sit in the back yard having a cool drink and snack Chris had prepared earlier.  They were always delicious and I couldn't wait for her to ask if we wanted something to eat.  As I was basting my chicken on the grill the other night thoughts of Chris ran thru my head of watching how she was always running out to baste her food on the grill no matter what time of the year and boy did it smell good.  Chris always had a wonderful outlook on life and even thou she was sick she always said "I'm doing fine".  Her grandson, Aaron was the light of her life, and thank you Cahren for making your mother so happy with your marriage to Eddie and giving her a grandchild to love.  Chris was very upbeat and courageous and was a person everyone can look up to. ........May you rest in peace Chris with God holding you in his loving arms after his angels lifted you up to him.

I read the obituary about our friend today in the Press, an I'm in denial again. It's hard to believe she's gone. I'll always have fond memories of her. You couldn't ask for a better friend and neighbor. I still have that photo album that she made and gave to me at my 50th. birthday party. It's a classic. I enjoyed watching her feed the squirrels on her back porch. I feel bad that Linda and I didn't get out to see her in Gilbert, she's asked us many times, " when are you guys coming out? " We had a good neighborhood here back then, and we were all close friends. Things are different now. I remember watching her grilling vegetables on the grill in the winter in her back yard. Thats something I didn't know you could do in the cold weather.........."Pleasant Memories".................may she rest in peace....................

To Cookie & Charlie,
  I remember when I arrived at North Bergen at 13 st. On September 1962. I sat on the steps at the entrance of the building as she passed by listening to a transit or radio. She said Hello and all I did was just smile.  That same day she spike with Marcelino and asked him to bring me to the house. As time passed by there was a bond created between us and I looked at her as part of my family.  Her house was always filled with children and it was " the hang out place"! I still remember when she corrected me with the words yellow and jello.As time passed by and we got older I always checked on Cookie without her even knowing that I was watching over her. When I told her I was moving away from North Bergen she went to speak to my Mom & Pop and she wanted a good reason for me moving away.she offered the second level of her home to my family and I. As I got older I realized that I was part of two families.  She offered my family and I a part of her home. I can keep writing forever about Cookie. Whoever nicknamed her was right " she was as sweet as can be." now I look back and I realize there was an angel among us and as I look up into the heavens I know she is there. She is loved and will be missed but she will forever remain in my heart.  Carlos L. Artola

I met Chris through our shared interest in rubber stamping. I send heartfelt wishes for comfort and peace for family and friends as you transition the loss of your loved one. Each of your memories will keep her close at heart always.

Thru the teen years everyone always came to Cookie's front yard.  Her family was warm and welcoming.  She always had a great sense of humor. Peace be with you and your family.  Hugs always ((*-*))

Chris had such a loving and happy heart. She welcomed me to AZ with open arms and we spent a lot of time stamping and doing art together. She will e missed.

Chris and I met through our love of rubber stamping, she was a marvelous teacher and artist.  I will always remember the good times we had.  Rest in Peace, Dear Chris, you will be missed.

When I first met Chris, I did not know she was an accomplished artist, and here I was a fledgling teaching her a "new technique" which turned out it was her idea originally.  What a laugh we had.  To me Chris was so full of life, love, and a "lady" who loved her family and friends.  So many sweet memories of her will linger within me.  My deepest condolences to her family as I know they will miss her tremendously.

What a lovely tribute to a wonderful lady. Blessing to you as you remember the happy times and live out her legacy.

I can only imagine the sadness of Cookie's family.  She will be so very missed.  I wish her comfort now and know that she will be with you all in your hearts.  Keep the memories dear.

I had never met Chris personally, but knew her through our love of rubber stamping and artwork. She was a part of my design team on Stamper's Quest magazine. Such a talented lady who contributed so much to our ezine. We became friends through the internet and through the magazine. I am indeed lucky to have had such wonderful person in my life. Chris was wonderful.  We were email and internet buddies.  We found each other through a stamping group and a friendship formed.  She was very dear to me.
