Connie Lee-Nunn, 81, passed away March 16, 2026 at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ. Connie was the daughter of Theodore and Esther (Reile) Kluck. She was born July 9, 1944 in McClusky, ND.
At the age of 14 her family moved to Fargo, ND and she later graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1962. She attended Moorhead State College for one year, worked for General Motors, and worked at an insurance company where her boss introduced her to Robert G. Lee. Connie and Robert were married in Moorhead, MN in 1967 and later divorced in 1969, with no children. She worked for property management and land development companies. She lived in Minneapolis for 10 years before briefly returning to ND.
She moved to AZ in 1978 where she worked for North American Coin & Currency in the trading department, and as a Gold Broker. Starting in 1982 Connie worked at Salt River Project where she spent 18 years, mostly in the land management department until retiring in 2000. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western International University in September 1989. While at SRP, she met Leroy, they dated for almost 8 years, and were married on December 31, 1993.
Connie was a long-time member of Saving Grace Lutheran Church in Queen Creek, AZ and in her early days was involved in many activities in helping get the start-up congregation established. She was instrumental in organizing a Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) group at the church which raised money for seating at the new constructed building in Queen Creek. Her interests at the church included Bible Study get-togethers, singing in the choir and helping organize the Easter Morning Breakfasts in the early days when the congregation met in a local school. She joined the Friday “Chicks” group which originally met at the nearby Chick-Fil-A and continues to meet today at member’s homes. If there was a birthday to celebrate, it was always Connie who brought a crown for the birthday “girl” and always made sure there was a special cake.
Connie is a breast cancer survivor. Her dogs Abby and Lucy were a constant source of joy. She loved to pamper and spoil them with treats. She & Leroy spent lots of time in Rocky Point and camping in their younger years. She also liked 4-wheeling in the desert with Leroy. She loved going to the local Hale Theatre to watch live music or plays. She loved putting people together whether it was her Bunco group, church activities, or having parties. She enjoyed playing games with her neighbors in her community and putting puzzles together with her friends! She was adventurous and enjoyed traveling. She loved singing everywhere and anywhere!
Connie is survived by two step children, Ralph Nunn III and Cheryl Varner, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Luella Kluck and Andrea Kluck, nephews Greg Kluck and Bruce Kluck, nieces Cindy Kluck and Valerie Palm, and sixteen great nephews and nieces.
