Craig Monroe Knowles

Craig Monroe Knowles was born on February 25, 1947 to James Thomas and Evelyn Mae Knowles in Lewes, DE. Craig attended and graduated from Ceaser Rodney High School in 1966. Craig enlisted into the United States Army where he proudly served two tours in Vietnam. Craig then became an employee of the Department of Defense at the Dover Air Force Base until transferring to Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, AZ. In 1988.

Craig was a Past Fire Chief of the Magnolia Vol. Fire Company, an Honorary Life Member of the Bowers Fire Company and a previous member of the Dover Fire Department. Craig was also a member of the local Masonic Lodge. Craig spent the later years after civil service working for the Desert Schools Transportation division and enjoyed spending time with his dog Bella who unfortunately passed away in November 24.

In addition to his parents, Craig was preceded in death by his brother James E. Knowles. He is survived by his daughter, Amy Brittingham of Magnolia, DE, son, Ryan (Dawn) Knowles, three grandchildren, Haley Knowles, Karmyn Brittingham and Zachary (Paige) Wheway, his close and dear friends Kathy Barr, Ron & Louisa Scannell and Nardy Garrison. Craig Knowles will placed to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ, with a memorial service announced at a later date.
