Cynthia Jo Schrantz

Cindy died unexpectedly on Thursday January 9th, 2025. She was born August 28th, 1959 at Fort Benjamin Harrison Army Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was raised in Normal, IL where she attended Unit 5 schools and received her Bachelor’s Degree in English and Journalism from Illinois State University.

Cindy spent all of her working life at State Farm Insurance in Bloomington, IL until 2017. She moved to Mesa, AZ in 2019 to be near her daughter and family.

Cindy spent much of her professional career and retired years participating in non-profit organizations including Bloomington Junior High School Promise Council, Midwest Food Bank, Home Sweet Home Ministries and Mesa Community College Seniors Lifelong Learning Program.

Cindy was passionate in her pursuit of lifelong learning, personal fitness and travel with her grandchildren and family members. She loved playing games, doing puzzles, playing tennis and adding humor and joy to each day. She was a positive force in the world and always approached life with a smile.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, G. Mons Schrantz of Normal, IL.

She is survived by her mother, Carol Albrecht Schrantz, her daughter Nikki Clark and her husband Brian Clark and children Austin and Skylar, her brother Jeff Schrantz (Carol) and children Zach and Rebecca, and her brother Tad Schrantz (Leslie Lazarus) and children Olivia, Sam and Mikaela Oberlander.

A memorial service will be held at a future date to be determined in Normal, IL.

Cindy will always be with us amongst the moon and the stars.
