Dan had such a gentle spirit.  Our last time together was Thanksgiving and I remember asking him, do you want gravy Dan? In his sweet little way he said "oh yeah me like gravy."  He talked often of his girls, and about the good old days.  It was fun to come into the house and see him watching the Andy Griffith show. He will be missed so much. What a legacy he leaves behind.

Wow Uncle Dan, you made quite an impact on people! From what I've heard, you had a heart of gold and everyone loved being around you! I would have loved spending more time with you. I love you.

Dan going to miss you. Jim,Tom, you and I never let the grass grow under our feet . there was always a party to go find and if we couldn't find one we made our own. traveled many many miles  together  best memory was when we went fishing /camping , fishing season didn't open till midnight we got there early strung a rope between two trees threw a tarp over the rope threw our sleeping bags in this little hollow under the the tarp. 6 hours to go till midnight  so Jim says lets go to town and ahhh drink pop(right) so away we went 7 hours later come roaring back to fish . it started to rain, fished for about a hour, Dan didn't fish  but that didn't stop him . Finaly crashed woke up at daylight my arm was soaking wet. i was partialy  laying in a pool of water  Dan was laying in about 4 inches of water  you know his whole body  and he was blowing bubbles .that was what woke me up ..blub blub blub I said Dan wake up you are drowning  he said i am it's cold too  . so we got up, Jim fished ,I built a big bon fire trying to warm Dan up  you know 6x6x6 type of fire  spent more time getting firewood then anything else. thats what we did in those early days might not always been right but we had fun boy did we have fun . But of coarse our wives might not have agreed with us huh Gail . you are gone but never forgotten ....JERRY HARTLE  SEATTLE WA.

Dan was the best brother-in-law ever! Haveing known him for over 40 years I still can't believe he isn't with us any longer. My favorite memory of him: When David and I lived in an apartment in Tempe, before we had any kids, Dan came to visit us. I was reclining in my Lazyboy and Dan was so hyped up to be in such beautiful weather he was jogging around the room, came over and hit the foot of my recliner, expecting it to fold up my chair and propel me out of it! All it did was break the foot rest in half! I think we laughed about that for years!
