

Dave was born July 9, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Robert Sr. and Rose Marie Beckom. He grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Broad Ripple High School.
He served in the United States Army from 1969-1971, during Vietnam, achieving rank of Sergeant in the Air Defense Signal Battalion as an electrical repairman. While serving his country he earned the National Defense Service Medal.
Dave had a career in industrial supplies as a Senior Insides Sales Representative with MSC Industrial Supply Company for 30 years. He was a member of the Eastern Regional Umpires Association and New Britain Elks Lodge 957.
Dave had a passion for umpiring and the great game of baseball. He was very active in trivia with his team as a wealth of knowledge, playing cards with friends, going to baseball games at Chase Field and traveling to historical places.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Rose Marie and brothers, Joe and Bill.
He is survived by his two sons, Scott Beckom (Kim), Mansfield, TX, Thomas Beckom (Jennifer), Fort Worth, TX and daughter, Kelly Watson, out of country; and four grandchildren, Brittanny Beckom, Olivia Beckom, Clara Beckom, and Elizabeth Beckom; and his two brothers, Alan Beckom (Laura), Mesa, AZ and Robert Jr. Beckom (Brandy), Indianapolis, IN.
