Delfina G. Jacques

Delle is survived by her loving daughter-in-law, Denise Jacques; her cherished granddaughters, April Arrowood (James Arrowood) and Katrina Jacques (Devon Muldong); and her brothers, David Gonzalez and Dan Gonzalez (Carolyn Gonzalez).

She was preceded in death by her parents Eloisa and Francisco Gonzalez, husband, Tony Jacques, and her son, David Anthony Jacques.

Delle met her beloved husband, Tony, through a pen-pal relationship made possible through mutual friends in the small town of Tucumcari. From that special connection, they married and their family grew with the birth of their son, David Anthony.

Throughout her life, Delle lived in several places, including Albuquerque and Pittsburgh, before settling in Tucson, Arizona, where she and her family spent many happy years. She worked for Hughes Missile Systems Company in Tucson, Arizona, serving on the assembly line for many years with dedication.

In her free time, Delle enjoyed playing the organ, gardening, and collecting unique jewelry pieces. She had a deep love for animals and cared for many beloved pets throughout her life, including her Siamese cats, schnauzers and poodles, her turtle, “ET,” and most recently her tabby cat companion, “Molly.”

Her granddaughters will forever remember her joyful spirit and her constant reminders to always “keep smiling”. She and Grandpa Tony were unwavering in their support throughout their lives, attending their childhood events including all the choir concerts and football halftime shows. Some of their most treasured memories include holidays spent together and cheering side by side at University of Arizona football games. They will deeply miss her special tradition she shared with them of calling on every birthday, always singing at the exact time they were born. The nicknames she and Grandpa gave them, “April Annie” and “Junebug,” will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Delle’s warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
