Delores Ann “Dee” Lagana, 88, of Mesa, Arizona, went home to be with the Lord on November 5, 2025. A beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, Dee will be fondly remembered for her vibrant personality, her deep faith, and her boundless love for those around her.
Born on February 14, 1937, in Canandaigua, New York, to Hector and Hazel Hamelinck, While her life's path was often difficult, her spirit was defined by the values she held dear: hard work, laughter and love. Often described as outgoing and full of life, many compared her energy and humor to that of Lucille Ball—always the life of the party and quick to make others smile.
Dee accomplished much over the course of her life. She earned her California realtor’s license, owned her own ceramic shop, and used her ministry to lead many people to the Lord. Her love for creativity showed in her crafts—Japanese needle art, macramé, crocheting, and ceramics filled her days when she was younger. As the years went on, she found joy in tending her garden and cheering for her favorite baseball team, the Arizona Diamondbacks. Known in the family for her exceptional cooking, Dee’s table was always open to friends and loved ones.
She was an active member of her community, especially through the Glendale Senior Citizen Center, where she loved playing cards and sharing laughter with friends.
Delores is survived by her son, Joseph Lagana Jr. (Isabel) his children Joseph III (Ashley); Jacob (Gretchen); daughter, Denise Lagana; her children Joshua (Taylie); Danielle (Nathaniel) and her 11 great grand children. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, Joseph Lagana Sr.
Dee’s life was a shining example of love, generosity, and joy. As we remember her, may we find comfort in the words of John 3:16.
