Dennis John Slota

He was born on September 28, 1939, the eldest of 6 children to John and Ann (Broekema) Slota in Chicago, Illinois, where he was also raised. He joined the US Air Force, serving honorably for 28 years before retiring. He met Marcelina Slota in 1960, and they were later wed. Together, they lived in various locations in the U.S. and the Philippines, starting their family during that period. They finally settled in Belleville, Illinois, for 19 years. After retirement, they moved to Ocala, Florida in 1997 then moved to Mesa in 2016. He enjoyed playing golf after retirement, and was an avid Chicago sports teams fan, the Blackhawks, Bears, and Cubs (excluding the White Sox), he also enjoyed woodworking during his earlier years.

He is survived by his sons, Kenneth John Slota (Lori), Christopher Terrence Slota; grandchildren Alex Slota, Nicholas Slota, Ashley Slota; brothers Terry, Bob, Tony and sister Lisa, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park, 400 S Power Rd on Sunday, August 14, at 12:00 pm.
