Diane was born in Akron, Ohio in 1943 to Hugh and Doris (McClowry) Snyder. As a child, she lived in Akron, OH, San Antonio, TX then Irwin and Pitcairn, PA. Diane attended Norwin High School in Irwin, PA and graduated with the Class of 1961.
Wanting to see the world at 18, Diane attended a program and worked for Pan Am Airline in New York City. She married in 1963 and divorced in the early 1990s.
Diane attended Mesa Community College for her associates degree. After graduating from Arizona State University with her nursing degree, she completed a nearly 20 year career as a Registered Nurse, making a positive difference in many people's lives and in many areas of nursing.
Diane loved and not in any particular order, BOOKS, travel, cats(kak), dogs, her family, friends, Christmas (everything), angels, watching college football (knew stats), NASCAR, figure skating, sewing beautiful figure skating dresses for her granddaughter Emily and her friends, gymnastics, NFL, Van Halen, classical music, crosswords, cards, talking on the phone, martinis, baking cookies, trying new recipes, and the Olympics. She never said no to a stray animal and over the years, provided more than 15 pets with a home for life. She loved a bad joke and was always full of snarky, sarcastic humor for any situation!
Diane is survived by her 2 children, Stacey (Brad Wiemann) and Tim Merrill (Rhonda), 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and 2 more on the way. And her last surviving pet cat, George.
Diane's wishes were that no services be held and that her final resting adventure be with her children someday.
