81, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on January 26th, 2014. Don was born June 9th, 1932 in Marietta, Ohio to David and Mary Lauer. He graduated from Bartlett High School and married Dorotha Mae Loy in December of 1953. He made his career as a self-employed brick mason. Don proudly served in the United States Air Force and had a passion for helping others. He was also a supportive member of the Church of Christ in both Mesa and Gilbert, Arizona. Don is preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorotha Lauer and daughter Debbie Kidney. He is survived and will live on through his son Dennis Lauer and wife Jill, along with grandchildren Derek and Laura Lauer out of Midland, Michigan; son-in-law Gary Kidney and grandchildren Josh Kidney residing in New Haven, Connecticut and Brandon Kidney in Friendswood, Texas; and his 3 sisters, Wanda Palich in Mesa, Arizona, Florence Latimer in Green Valley, Arizona, Myrtle Radcliff in Wichita Falls, Texas, and one brother, Bill Lauer out of Bartlett, Ohio as well as many nieces and nephews. The family extends special thanks to Elisa and Mark Palich and their family for the extra love and care they showed Donald during the later years of his life.
