

Donald Elvin Orr, originally from Murdo, South Dakota, proudly served his country for 21 years in the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CW3). During the Vietnam War, he led a dedicated team of radio technicians, ensuring vital communications systems in military helicopters
remained operational under challenging conditions.
Following his military service, Don embarked on a second 21-year career as an Electronic Engineer at KRDO, a major television station in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he continued to apply his technical expertise with precision and dedication.
In 1955, Don married the love of his life, Joyce Ruvine Lord. Together, they shared nearly 70 years of marriage, building a life grounded in commitment, love, and family.
He is survived by his beloved wife Joyce; two daughters, Donna Vessey (and her husband David) and Terry Young (and her husband Michael); six grandchildren, Mandy Vosburg, Blake Barnes, Stormi Brewer, Jon Corey Brewer, Shelby Underdahl, and Mariah Young; and two great-grandchildren, Quinn Vosburg and Claire Young. He was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Carla Brewer.
Donald Orr was a devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, and a man of strength and service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
