Doris L. Bartelt

Doris Louise Bartelt, 93, went to her Savior on Thursday, June 19th. She was born February 16, 1921 to the late William and Frieda Duehring in Friesland, Wisconsin. She was baptized into God’s kingdom and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friesland. After graduation from Winnebago Lutheran Academy, Fond du Lac she was educated at Manitowoc Business College.

She was united in marriage to Alfred Bartelt on June 16, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friesland, Wisconsin. They lived and raised three children in Friesland and Beaver Dam, WI where they resided for many years before moving to Mesa, Arizona in 1984. She did financial clerical work in Milwaukee, and Beaver Dam, WI and Mesa, AZ. Doris was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Mesa where she was active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society and Ladies Guild, she rejoiced regularly in hearing God’s Word and receiving the Lord’s Supper. She has received the blessed promise of the Savior, “Blessed are they who die in the Lord”, (Rev.14:13).

She is survived by two children, Randall Bartelt of Madison, Tennessee and Noel (James) Youngbeck of Mesa, Arizona; one brother and sister-in-law, Martin (Shirley) Duehring of Concord, California; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred, one daughter, Paulette Bartelt; her parents William and Frieda Duehring; two sisters Althea Sauer and Gertrude Duerr, two brother-in-laws, Pastor Theodore Sauer and Arthur Duerr, and one great-grandchild.

Memorial Service is scheduled for Tuesday, July 1st at 11:00 am at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 3257 East University Drive in Mesa, Rev James Winterstein officiating. Interment will be next to her dear husband at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
