Douglas Darrell Steinert

Douglas Darrell Steinert, 79, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025. Born on August 4, 1946, in Omaha, Nebraska, Douglas lived a full and vibrant life marked by music, family, and a deep appreciation for the beauty in the world around him.

A proud graduate of Westside High School, Douglas continued his education at Phoenix College, where he earned an associate degree in Arts and Music—reflecting his lifelong passion for the arts.

On May 18, 2008, he married the love of his life, Sandra Steinert, in Queen Creek, Arizona. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures.

Professionally, Douglas worked in the insurance industry as a claims adjuster with Farmers Insurance and American Family Insurance. Outside of work, he was a proud member of the Order of DeMolay in Nebraska and an accomplished professional musician. His love of music resonated through every stage of his life, and he shared that gift with all who knew him.

Douglas also had a deep affection for classic cars and horses—two passions that connected him to both the past and the natural world in meaningful ways.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sandra Steinert; his children, Shannon Matherly and Casey Steinert; his grandchildren, Cameron Steinert and Lauren Steinert; and his great-grandchildren, Jalessa Matherly, Aniya Matherly, Amari Matherly, and Anorah Matherly.

Douglas leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and enduring love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
