Edward James Fuss of Mesa AZ passed away October 16, 2018 at the age of 87. He was born September 6, 1931 in Salamanca, NY to Neil Starks and Lela Thelma [Schutt] Fuss. Edward worked for many years with SJL Construction of Arizona, working on and installing underground pipelines. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean war and was honorably discharged on June 16, 1954 at the rank of Sergeant. In 1979, Edward met Nancy Hedlund at a roping competition in Arizona; their very first date was attending Family Bible Church in Mesa where they were married several months later on July 14, 1979. Edward was an avid football fan, and enjoyed watching both professional and college teams. He also had a love for animals, especially his dog, Spike, who went everywhere with him until Spike passed away. What meant most to Edward though, was the time he was able to spend with his family; they meant the world to him. In 1995, he joined the East Valley Church of the Nazarene in East Mesa, which he was a member of for 23 years. During those 23 years, Edward served on the church board. Edward is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Hedlund Fuss; daughters, Deb Thomas, Cindy (Rick) King, Lori Wright, Amy (Ronnie) Quintana and Ruth (John) Wittrock; his stepson, Robert Hedlund; 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many friends.
