Genevieve Louise Schimmick

Genevieve Schimmick, 95, passed away on September 1, 2015 in Mesa, Arizona. She was born July 13, 1920 in Carlinville, Illinois to George and Frances [Mattis] Tuschak. Genevieve lived in Illinois until the age of 6 when she moved to Michigan. It was in Michigan that she met the love of her life, Leonard, who she married and together they raised two children, Paul and Judy. They were also blessed with four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Genevieve and Leonard moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1995 where they enjoyed the warm weather and golfing; they spent the next seven years together until Leonard’s passing on October 2, 2002.

Genevieve continued to enjoy golfing and also loved playing pinochle, poker or any card games that involved betting. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Mesa for many years until she was unable to attend.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Frances; husband Leonard and five siblings Edward, George, Mary, Bill and Dick and is survived by her son Paul Schimmick; daughter Judy (Tom) Guckian; grandchildren, Craig, Jeff (Holly), Mike and Kristine (Scott); great-grandchildren Seda, Aiken, Jenna, Jack and Madison as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
