

Gessica Grace Pooley Boone, 39, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away April 30, 2020. She was born February 17, 1981 in Mesa, Arizona to Albert Mark and Julia Sue [Skeldelski] Pooley. Gessica was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, auntie and granddaughter. Gessica was affectionately known as “G.”
Gessica started a career with the Salt River Police Department in Scottsdale, Arizona as a 911 Dispatcher at the age of 19. There she met the love of her life, Eric Preston Boone. Eric and Gessica were married January 28,2006 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Chandler, AZ.
In May, 2005, Gessica graduated from the Central Arizona Regional Law Officers Training Academy and joined the Salt River Police department as an Officer. Throughout her career she held the position of Field Training Officer, Detective assigned to the Professional Standards Bureau and then later to the Family Advocacy Center Crimes Against Children, Sergeant, and Ranger. She loved being a police officer. Gessica considered the officers she worked with as part of her family. During the Holidays she would invite those who were on patrol for Salt River and Mesa PD to join her family for dinner so they would enjoy a home cooked meal. Gessica retired after 18 years.
Gessica is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, Eric Preston Boone; her parents, Albert and Julia Pooley; her siblings, Susan and Michael Sharp; Karra and Thomas Papa (their children, Jordan, Makenzie, Evelyn, Abigail, Spencer and Daniel); Mark and Liz Pooley (their children, Yesenia, Yasmin, and Mathias); Michael and Tere Pooley (their children, Michael, Natalya, Alyssa and Kamilah); Amy and Justin Fa’atoafe (their children, Talia, Kimbal, and Taimane); and her two dogs, Padme and Snoopy.
Gessica enjoyed spending time with her family and loved serving and helping others. She was one of the most caring people. Gessica will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
