My Nana, tomorrow is your birthday and you would have turned 99 years young. As I sit here in my home listening to my children play I think of how you prayed for me to find the perfect one and your prayers were answered for me. I wish you could have seen me get married and met my babies you would have loved their personalities. They are kind, loving and silly. My son Levi would make you laugh.  
I miss you Nana. I miss your love, I miss getting toms with you, I miss your personality and the way you raised your eyebrows, I miss sitting with you on your porch, I miss being there for you when you were scared at night in the house. It was an honor to spend a lot of time with you in your last years of life and it was very painful to let you go...it is still painful. I can’t wait to see you in heaven and we can sit on your mansions porch for hours and watch the birds and butterflies flutter by. I love you Nana! I miss you more than words can express.

You lived your life with a strong faith in God, and you left us with such beautiful memories. We miss you so much it hurts.  Enjoy Paradise Mom! Wait for us in that special place we talked about, OK?

Thank you Nana Mina for always praying for me, my kids and my husband. I know you loved Alyssa, especially, because EVERYTIME I spoke to you, you would ask, "Y la muchacha?, como esta la muchacha?" You would always tell me, "Be patient mija. (Give me that precious nod and half smile) and tell me, "She will be okay, just keep praying for her." ~ I will, nana Mina. I will miss your smile, your humour, your patience and your quiet grace. You were truly a precious woman, once in a lifetime, top notch, work of art, just from God to us. I have known for over 26 years...and I was blessed to have you watch the girls when they were babies...watch you work in your garden, taste those awesome beans. Those green corn tamales will never be topped by anyone. I still have and will keep the pillows and blanket you made for each of my girls. I have fond memories of when you lived down the street from us and the boys, Jason and Caleb would come running over to play with my brothers. I would see you from a distance, and at that time, did not know what a huge part of my life you and yor family would be. You were just an inspiraton to me, so graceful and warm of heart.  Start warming up that dance floor nana Mina,  we are not far behind you. Hug nana Cruz and my boys for me....love you like no other. You  really were everybody's granny.

Mina was a wonderful lady who always seemed happy and cheerful. She was marvelous at helping our children learn good habits. She brightened up our home whenever she was around. She was a superb cook who made the best green corn tamales in the world. We all loved her dearly. Nancy, Adrienne, and Kenny join me in expressing our deepest sympathies.

My Brother and I wish to express our condolences to the family of this great Lady. Sister Mina was one of the Mothers and respected elders of MSAC. I will miss her pleasant greeting and smile. I am currently out of State and I regret that I couldn't attend the funeral services.

What a great privilege to have known such a special woman. I was always greeted at Church with a smile and a kiss. I will miss her kind spirit and the inspiration of her unwavering walk with the Lord.

Nana Mina~ I will greatly miss you so much.  Just seeing you in church was a blessing and inspiration to all of us, especially the women and all the children loved you so much.  You fought the fight and you WON!  You always had a great smile and a hug for everyone, thank you.  Thank you for blessing my life and inspiring me to continue my walk with God.  See you soon. I will cherish the memories I shared with her. I will miss her very much until we see each other again!

Nana Mina was sweet lady, we will miss her sweet spirit. May you find comfort in her absence, knowing that she is resting with God now. She is not thinking of pain or sorrow, but has now entered entered into peaceful, joyful, eternal life. We will join our loved ones there oneday soon. Thank you Jesus!

Nana Mina was so quick to tilt her beautiful head to give you a smile, hug a child, give you a kiss, ask how things are or just sit there holding your hand.  She was one in a million and will so be missed.  We love you Nana Mina, you will always be a wonderful memory in our hearts.  We loved how you danced in church and know you are dancing to the Lord without pain!
