Helena “Lee” Edwards, born March 19, 1934 in Amsterdam, Netherlands to Anthonius and Helena [Oosterhoof] Van Dijk passed away on December 16, 2013. Lee was very involved in social activities at Leisure World and had a hand in many of the amenities such as the Friday Night Socials Club; starting a singles group that met every Sunday; teaching cooking and was always trying new recipes, anything from French, Asian and European and as an avid reader, she was involved in the setup of the Leisure World Library. Lee also found a way to thank the men and women serving our country by packing care boxes to send overseas. But nothing brought her more joy than her family. Lee is survived by her daughter Bettina (Hans) Kooijman; grandchildren Ashley and Jordan Kooijman and her sister Tonnij Hamilton. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, March 18 at Leisure World Rec. Room 1 in Mesa. Arrangements entrusted to Mariposa Gardens Funeral Care (480) 830-4422
