Herbert Dykstra

Herbert was united in marriage to Ardis Van Beek of Rock Valley, Iowa on July 30, 1958. They farmed north of Rock Valley, Iowa until 1985. They then moved to Arizona where he worked for Arizona Dairy and Chandler Ready Mix until he retired at the age of 72. He then spent some time helping his son at Dykstra Machinery.

Herbert was a member of Central Christian Church in Gilbert, AZ. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends, hunting, fishing, and farming. Herb will be remembered for being able to talk to anyone. He took pride in his farming and enjoyed spending time with his family. The last years he loved visits from his grandchildren and great grandchildren which made his day.

He passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, the day after his birthday.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 64 years: Ardis Dykstra of Gilbert, AZ; his daughters Jacquelyn (Brad) Dykstra of Rock Valley, IA, Joni (Jeff) From of Sioux Falls, SD, sons Jeffrey Dykstra (Fiance Jennie Garrison) of Columbus, NE, Jamie (Kim) Dykstra of Gilbert, AZ; 8 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Sister Phyllis (Paul) Vander Linden of Ashton, IA, sister in laws, Ercell Dykstra, Trudy Dykstra, and Lavonne Dykstra.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Alice (Damstra) Dykstra, 2 sisters; Grace Silvis and Joyce Weg, 4 brothers; David Dykstra, Robert Dykstra, Larry Dykstra and infant brother Wilfred
