Christine was born October 16, 1931 to parents Raymond and Tiny Thompson in Parma, Missouri.
Christine spent her early years in Malden, Missouri, graduating from Malden High School in 1950.
Christine met her soulmate Eugene Joseph Russel and they were united in marriage on September 30, 1955 in Malden, Missouri. She spent the next years as a devoted military wife, homemaker and beloved mother.
In Chris’s spare time she was an avid reader, played endless games of solitaire and she enjoyed playing golf and being a bowling league member.
Chris predeceased by her husband Lt. Colonel Eugene Joseph Russel who was taken too soon in 1970. Interment will occur at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. where her final resting place will be with her true love.
Also predeceased by her parents Raymond and Tiny, brothers Vedis and Freeman.
She is survived by her children, one son and two daughters; Patrick Russel and his wife Shari Russel, Catherine Russel and Karen Halley with Allen Kelley and grandchildren; Jesse and Wyatt Russel, Nathan and Aiden Halley and Deric, Julie and Brooke Kelley, siblings; brother Doyle Thompson and sister Imogene Rush.
A memorial service will be held at Lakeshore Mortuary 1815 South Dobson Road in Mesa, Arizona on June 6, 2022 at 11:00am. Continuation of the celebration of life will be held afterwards with food, drinks, laughter and sharing at Oregano's Pizza Bistro in Gilbert, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made towards Alzheimer's and Dementia resources to the Alzheimer’s Association or Parkinson’s Foundation, both devastating diseases which Chris suffered from.
