With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jamie Lynn Kirkham, 26, who left us on April 25, 2025. Jamie was born in Belomorsk, Russia, and came to the United States at the age of eight, where she began a new chapter with her family.
She graduated from Red Mountain High School and later served in the United States Army. Though her life was marked by challenges, Jamie carried a quiet strength and sensitivity that touched those who took the time to truly see her.
Jamie found comfort in nature—she loved hiking, kayaking, and losing herself in the focus of a puzzle. She had a deep empathy for those on the margins of society and often gave her kindness to people others might overlook. Sunflowers were her favorite, perhaps because they seek the light no matter how heavy the clouds.
She is survived by her mother, Kathleen Elliott; her father, Jeffrey Kirkham; her brothers, Geoffrey Kirkham and Christopher Elliott.
Jamie’s story is a reminder of the unseen battles many face. She will be remembered for her tenderness, her quiet resilience, and the moments of light she brought into the lives around her.
A private memorial will be held by her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to NAMI Valley of the Sun, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness.
