

Janet was born in Farson, Iowa on October 16, 1934, graduated from Ottumwa High School and married to Jack D. Garner on August 31, 1952.
Janet was a loving and devoted military wife and mother of 4 daughters. Jack and Janet married soon after Jack returned from Korea in 1952. Janet and Jack traveled wherever the Air Force sent them. Her daughters born in Arizona, Germany and California. She frequently took on primary parent role when Jack was on TDY. Janet had a passion and talent for art that began at a young age spending time with her Grandmother Holzhauser. Her artistic expression was shown through sewing, gourd crafting, and painting. She made so many things over the years that were not truly appreciated until now. Her many talents expanded past art, and included bargain hunting, coffee, genealogy, coffee, recipes, and collecting AND coffee. Janet also had a strong passion for politics and civic engagement, which led to becoming a DAR member, and serving her community in the Veterans Club, the SVE chapel and other events. After her children were grown, Janet became interested in fashion, her grandkids, selling her crafts at art shows, cruises, traveling and coffee.
Janet will be sadly missed. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Jack Garner.
Daughters: Sheryl (Bill) Bluntzer, Denise (Steve) O’Brien, Karen (Todd) Gregorski and Laurie (Marty) Casarez.
Grandchildren: Lyndy (Ryan) Rotert, Kim (Jacob) Silman, Alexa (Mike) Helinski, Brianna O’Brien, Blaine (Amanda) O’Brien, Amber Casarez, Shea Casarez.
Great-grandchildren: Connor, Colby, Chandler & Cody Silman, Wes & Zack Helinski, Wilson & Wren Rotert.
Many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by parents: Donald and Mildred White. Grandparents William Dan and Lydia Holzhauser. Brother Larry (Jan) White.
A celebration of life will be held on February 5, from 10:00am to 11:00am at Mariposa Gardens in the San Tan venue.
