In her spare time, Jean enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was also an avid reader.
Jean is survived by her son, Ernest Laning; daughters, Carrie Williams and Denise Watts; her grandchildren and great grandchildren; and 2 siblings, Grace Castle and Robin Powell. She is preceded in death by her sons, Robert Laning and Lee; and her parents, Leroy Powell and Mary Powell; her brother Leroy Powell; her sisters, Mary Lou Shackleton, Betty Gore, and Helen Wieliczko.
