

Jeanette Frances Philpott, 92, passed away with the sunrise on July 18, 2020 in Chandler, Arizona. She was the fourth of six children to be born in the home of George and Esther Hoffmann in Wheatland, Iowa. Jeanette was raised in Wheatland where she played basketball and supported a family-owned general store by decorating the window displays and waiting on customers after school and in the summer months.
Following high school Jeanette began her career at the bank in Grand Mound, IA where she met Victor Lichtenstein. They were wed on May 4th, 1951 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland, IA. The couple resided in Bettendorf, IA and continued her career at the Bettendorf Bank. It was there where Jeanette met her mentor, Frank Letto, who recruited her to aid in the opening of the South Bay Bank in Torrance, CA. She continued her banking career upon returning to Bettendorf, IA in 1969 at The Security Bank where she attained the position of Assistant Vice President, then finished her career as an Accountant for the Bozeman, Neighbour, Patton, and Noe Law Firm in Moline, IL.
Jeanette raised her only child as a single mother following the dissolution of her first marriage. She remarried to Glen McCoy Philpott on September 11, 1979 in Davenport, IA. The couple resided in Rock Island, IL until retiring year-round in Mesa, AZ in 2003. She resided in Sun Lakes, Arizona when widowed in 2005.
Jeanette enjoyed ballroom dancing, bird watching, caring for animals and pets, cooking, hiking, natural beauty, travel, water exercise, and most of all visiting with family and friends. She was active at the First Presbyterian Church in Mesa, and United Methodist Church in Sun Lakes, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glen Philpott, her parents, and siblings Kenneth Hoffmann, Verna May Foreman, Warren Hoffmann, and Carole Hoffmann. She is survived by her son, Bradley Lichtenstein, daughter-in-law Amy Douglass, and granddaughter Anelia Lichtenstein of Chandler, AZ, and her sister Marilyn Edsall of Louisville, CO
A celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 2pm at Mariposa Gardens on 400 S. Power Rd. Mesa, AZ 85206.
