Jewell Audrey Moon, born Dec. 30, 1927 in Great Bend, North Dakota to Joshua and Elsie (Warner) Bechtel, passed away August 14, 2014 in Mesa, Arizona at the age of 86. Jewell was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who found enjoyment in reading, playing the organ, tennis and gardening (in her earlier years). As a devout Christian, she volunteered at Central Christian Church and was a member of the church choir at Central Christian Church and later at Broadway Christian Church. Jewell was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one step sister, as well as her beloved husband Donald Moon. She is survived by her three children: Keith Moon, Gail (Tom) Mayes and Janet (Joe) Ruiz; seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Tera Jo, Jason, Kimberly, Joshua, Jamie and Jessie; and four great grandchildren: Brooke, Avaya Jo, Edith Anne and Jackson. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd in Mesa.
