

John Michael Marselis, age 76, passed away, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at his home in Mesa, with his loving wife by his side. John was born in Dorchester, Ma, on March 30, 1948. He was a graduate of Fermin Lassuen High School in San Pedro, Ca, with the class of 1965.
John was a proud US Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. After leaving the military, John enjoyed a long career in Auto sales and Real Estate.
John was always looking to give back to the community, which was evident by his almost 50 years of membership in both the Elks Foundation and Lions International. His love for cars was obvious to all his family and friends. During his free time, you could catch him enjoying a baseball game. Dogs held such a special place in his heart, if he could adopt all the strays he would have.
John is survived by his beloved wife Susan (Hopp) Marselis of 34 years; his children, Jonathan Marselis, Lisa VanWhy, Kimberly (William) Menelli and Stephanie (Brendan) Iber; and was the proud “Poppy “of Cora, Tyler, Hannah, Vaughn, Brayden, Jackson, Nolan, McKenna, Briele and Blake; as well as a loyal stepson to John (Tina) Murphy. John is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Mary.
Visitation services for John Marselis will be held on Thursday January 23, 2025, at Mariposa Gardens 6747 E. Broadway Road, Mesa, Az 85206, from 5:00-8:00p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation, and interment will be on Wednesday January 29, 2025, 1:30pm, National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 2929 E. Pinnacle Peak Rd. Phoenix, Arizona 85024.
