

Jolene was born on April 21, 1952 in Logan, Utah to Arthur Kay Barton and Laura Wilma Hendee. Jolene grew up in Logan spending time with her parents and older sister. During the summer the family would spend time at the family’s cabin on Bear Lake. She graduated from Logan Senior High School in 1970 where she was a member of the art club. Jolene loved learning. She regularly took classes of interest. She completed two associate degrees and was accepted to Northern Arizona University, receiving a scholarship shortly before her passing. She was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Jolene married her sweetheart, Steven Stettler, on July 8, 1971 in the Logan Utah Temple. They had two children, a daughter Erin and a son Joshua. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in July of 2025. The family spent summers at Bear Lake as well as travel. Jolene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in various positions. She enjoyed teaching the youth which often included her grandchildren.
Jolene held several positions in various doctors offices. First in reception and eventually back office, as well as a pharmacy tech. She also worked and taught medical transcription.
Jolene was trained and served as a Family Readiness Group Leader (FRGL) in the United States Army and served with the 492nd Civil Affairs Battalion and the 416th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne). Her service took her to assignments throughout the United States.
She is survived by her husband Steven of almost 55 years; children: Erin (Ryan) and Joshua (Andy). Jolene also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Alexander Schwab, Jessica Schwab, Mackenzie Battraw, Caden Stettler, Molly Schwab, Riley Stettler, and Evin Schwab and two great-grandchildren (Ryan Schwab, Jaime Battraw, and soon a third.)
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Kay Barton, mother, Laura Wilma Barton, and sister Marlene Ballard.
Her family wants to express heartfelt gratitude to her physician Dr. Chandar and the staff at Ironwood Cancer Center. They would like to thank the members of the Mountain Vista Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and close friends of the family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. There will not be a viewing. Services will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Mountain Vista Ward located at 10305 E. Southern Ave. Mesa, Arizona. Interment will be at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery at 7900 E. Main St. Mesa, AZ following the service.
