We were saddened to hear the new of Judi's passing. Our hearts go out to you during what we know must be a difficult time.  Please know that you are in our thoughts.

I met Judi in Denver close to two decades ago. God brought together a group of women who loved Him and loved photography. We dubbed ourselves "The Chicks that Click". And click we did. As you can see from the images, Judi brought her beauty, laughter, charm and wit wherever she went. She had a way of bringing out my best. Her best was always attributed to God. Here are her words from an email she sent me several years after her cancer diagnosis:

"Now I have a story to tell about how I was so depressed and God saved me. And how I tried to be brave for my husband and kids and how God helped me. And how I could not sleep or eat or hardly exist without pain and how God held me. And how I was scared to death about how I would go on with my life and how God held my hand and walked with me every painful step. Now I get it. I can feel others' pain about these things and I can relate on a personal level. And here is the good part, I can somehow make all those crazy sad things real, but okay, and sometimes even funny. It doesn't have to be scary. Ahhh, said the blind man as he picked up his hammer and saw."

I see you, Judi. You beat me home and I am so happy for you!!! I hope to carry forward your legacy of handling all that I encounter in this life.

I met an angel in 1982
In a former frat house called Psi U.
With bars on the windows and foot wide walls,
I had panicked and ran away from those jail-like halls.
Judi was friendly and kind that day
Took me on a tour and convinced me to stay.

So many laughs and smiles and love,
Judi was an angel sent from above.
We shared a major called HDFS,
She taught me to study and give it my best.

She baked me a cake with flags all around
The cake fight left frosting on walls and on ground,
Instead of Italian, Irish flags covered the cake
She always left thoughtfulness in her wake.

We even shared a place next to the Nines
A summer of fun and pizza anytime.
Forty years later there’s a place in my heart
Where Judi has captured a very big part.

When graduation finally came,
Again you lead the way
Singing “we are the graduates, the graduates we are” while drinking champagne
Making everything special that day.

There will never be another like my friend Judi
Your smile will never get old,
May the love you give to others come back to you a thousand fold.

Judi added so much joy to my life over the years.  We met at John Tyler Community College in a photography course.  Max was just a baby and Erin very young.  Given both children are beautiful, they made perfect subjects for our class assignments.  We learned a lot by trial and error and used to laugh that we should not practice on our paying customers - we DID!!!
Judi and I bonded quickly over our love of photography.  I have millions of pictures of the children and of her.  I also have a million of myself as she also used me to practice as well.  Judi was a great photographer and operated her home studio under the name of The Galusha Gallery.  You may still be able to find her work online.
She was the most upbeat, funny, strong and faithful person I have ever met.  I have had a picture of her on my computer desk for years - one of our many projects.  I am looking at it right now.

My deepest Sympathy,

I had the honor to work with Judy at Chandler-Gilbert Community College for many years. She always had a smile and always went over and beyond for the students she was working with and the staff who would always thrive from her joy and happiness she always gave.

My sympathy during this hard time, may memories give you strength and the love of all who will remember Judy to help with the days ahead.
