I just found this online notice of Karen’s death. I would love to make contact with one of her children—Janet,  Linda or Steve. Karen’s neighbor in Overgaard was my brother, Joe Allred. I found Karen’s cell number while going through papers and tried her listed number. Of course, it wasn’t a working number. Please contact one of Karen’s children and have them call Linda at 9282005228, resident of Show Low,  AZ. Thank you.

Dear Steve, Linda, and Janet,
I worked with Karen at Our Lady of Mount Carmel.  She was my first mentor.  She was my friend.  She taught me many things especially  how to be the best teacher and person I could be.  I am so sorry for your loss.  She was a kind and caring person.  She was so proud of the three of you. She always talked about you and her grandchildren..  I just found out that she died.  God bless all of you.  I know how hard holidays are.  My parents died.  Please know that you are in my prayers.

It is hard to believe it has been a year.  I think of our many exploits together often.  Our trips to Europe will always bring back great memories.  How life changes.  We should still be sitting over a diet coke and laughing together and remembering good times.  Miss your friendship and love,  Sharon


Karen was more than a co-worker.  She was the first person who I became good friends with at OLMC and in life.  We had so much in common that people often thought we were sisters.  Together we shared many good times here in Tempe, Mesa and even up in Overgaard and Pinetop.  This friendship extended far beyond ourselves.  Our husbands and families were friends.  We enjoyed watching each other's children grow, get married, and have children of their own.  Weddings, showers, graduations, good times, and hard times we shared them all.  She is a part of my life I will miss forever.  Rest in Peace dear Karen, love you, Sharon

Beloved Mrs. Jaskowski will always have a special place in my heart. By a simple, kind gesture, she was, unwittingly, instrumental in bringing me back to Jesus when I was having a crisis of faith. My son Alex had just started 1st grade when I lost my mother. I alerted Mrs. Jaskowski that he may have behavior issues in class that day. She answered by sending  me a Mass card for my mother. I was so deeply touched that this person whom I met only once would make the effort to comfort me with words of consolation. This simple gesture was the start of my journey to becoming fiercely devoted to my Catholic faith. Rest in peace, Mrs. Jaskowski.

Karen was a fine, dedicated first grade teacher at OLMC , Tempe, for many years.  Those years were filled with a good friendship and I certainly treasure them.   
I have many hand written recipes from Karen, she was a great cook and accomplished hostess.  Dinners and/or game nights always ended with pie!
