Son of Effie Mae Bell and Harry Stanley Bell, he was born October 6, 1931 in Swift, Missouri. He graduated from Wardell High School in 1949. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as security forces and was honorably discharged in 1967 as a Captain. He received a degree from University of Missouri Columbia and extended his education by taking classes at ASU as well. He taught Chemistry and was truly passionate about teaching and his students. Later, he ran an extremely successful real estate brokerage that specialized in land. He was never satisfied with sitting still and got his pilot’s license, traveled to all 50 states, Europe, Asia, Mexico, Belize and took many cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, and Hawaii. He loved his journeys and enjoyed meeting and connecting with interesting people.
He was preceded by his mother Effie Mae Bell and father Harry Stanley Bell; his siblings Samuel Edward and Mary Ann; his children Kelly, Marla, Dan, Stanley, and his nephews Jeff and Kevin. He is survived by his sister Hazel and her daughters Michelle (Mark) and Robin (David); Mary Ann’s children Jeanne (John), Juna (Henry), and Sonny (Tina); his ex-wife Linda and their son Austin; as well as his current wife of 11 years, Loni and step-daughter Lindsey (Tyler). His grandchildren include Michael, Marcus, Steven, Cassidy, Kenzie, Jacob, Kailey, and Chloe.
Larry was a deeply beloved husband, father, grandpa, uncle, cousin, brother, and friend. His passing was sudden and unexpected, but he left this world peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.
He has been a rock to many and a master storyteller with a quick wit and an endless supply of one-liners. He lived his life with a level of gratitude, humility, and love that should be an example to all. The amount of lives he touched are too countless to name.
His presence will forever be missed, but he will never truly be gone.
“When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them but to live with the love they left behind.”
