Leticia Hernandez, born on May 5, 1952, in Villa Juarez, Mexico, entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 7, 2023. She was the cherished daughter of Dagoberto Duran Contreras and Maria Del Refugio Garcia Lopez. Leticia, a dedicated semiconductor engineer, contributed over 20 years of her professional life to Motorola.
On February 3, 1978, she embarked on a lifelong journey of love and partnership with Antonio G. Hernandez, who preceded her in death on August 27, 2015. Leticia was not only a devoted wife but a loving mother and grandmother.
Her life was enriched by numerous passions and interests, yet none compared to the joy she found in spending time with her grandsons. Whether it was taking them to practices, picking them up from school, or embarking on travels throughout Mexico to immerse them in the beauty of their culture, Leticia's love and influence were immeasurable. Her vibrant spirit and sociable nature made her the life of every gathering, where she effortlessly made everyone feel included.
Leticia is survived by her son, Jessie Alexander D. Hernandez, and three beloved stepchildren, Ruben Hernandez, Phyllis Mesquita, and Cindy Garcia. Her legacy extends through three beautiful grandsons: Juananonio Hernandez, Jesus Alejandro Hernandez (Alex), and Joaquin Andres Hernandez. Additionally, she is remembered by five granddaughters, one grandson, and two great-granddaughters from her stepchildren.
On May 20, 2023, Leticia faced a catastrophic stroke that, despite her unwavering resilience and the support of her devoted family and friends, left her bedridden. Though she made progress with therapy, a subsequent UTI on July 2 impeded her recovery. Surrounded by her grandsons, son, and daughter-in-law, Leticia left this world on October 7, 2023, finding peace and comfort in the arms of the Lord.
Her memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
