Lynn Havighurst Hovde of Mesa, Arizona, passed away August 20, 2022. Lynn was born on August 6, 1942, in Phoenix, Arizona, the eldest of three girls, to Richard and Eleanore Havighurst. Lynn attended Scottsdale High and Chateau Beau-Cedre in Montreux, Switzerland, graduated from Arcadia High School, and received a Bachelors of Arts Degree from The University of Oklahoma. She was a proud member of Chi Omega Sorority, OK Lunch Bunch, and had a passion for politics (volunteering at the polls and campaigning for friends), party planning (organizing Scottsdale Beaver reunions), and dancing (jazz, clogging & tap dancing).
She is survived by her daughters Lara (Brent) Alvar, Jennifer (John) Dahl and Nicole Budz; grandgirls Jocelyn (Sam) Temes, Bryce Alvar, Aidyn Budz, Sloane Dahl and Abby Budz; sisters Nancy (Lance) Johnson, and Kathy Havighurst; nieces Becca (Dave) Goddell and Darcy (Mike) Price; great nieces Tessa and Addison Goddell and Selby Price; and Aunt Janet Marshall.
A Celebration of Gammy’s life will be held on Saturday, November 12, 10 am - 2 pm. Power Ranch Carriage House, 4546 East Haven Crest Drive, Gilbert, Arizona 85297.
