Manuel Munoz Lucero, 80, was called home on January 6, 2025. He was a devoted Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother and Tio, taking great pride in each of these roles throughout his life.
Manuel was born to Manuel and Manuela Lucero on January 11, 1944, in Ysleta, Texas and was one of eight children. He cherished spending quality time with his siblings, creating lasting memories and bonds along the way.
As a third-generation farmer, he spent his days harvesting crops, driving tractors, and maintaining ditches, pipes, and pumps across the fields of Chandler until his retirement. He often reminisced about his time on the John Deere tractors and working in the cotton fields.
In 1980 he married his wife, Lourdes and together they raised three children Ana, Cesar and Cristina. He lived for his kids. He worked hard to make sure they were taken care of and loved every day.
Tio was another special role that Manuel held dear to his heart. As the fun uncle, he brought endless joy and laughter to his nieces and nephews with his lighthearted spirit and playful sense of humor.
Manuel loved to sing, "El Rey" and "Vuelve Vuelve" being two of his favorite songs. It was common to hear him belting the lyrics in the shower, at work and during family gatherings, always sharing his joy through music.
He is survived by his daughter Ana (Luis Aniceto), son Cesar (Deborah Romero) and daughter Cristina (Manuel Pina), 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and his sisters Polly Renteria and Gloria Gutierrez. He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Manuela Lucero, brothers Jesus Lucero, Luis Lucero, Joe Lucero and sisters Mary Maraz and Juana Castro.
