Marcie Thompson

Marcie Thompson, born March 13, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Orey and Flossie Weldon, passed away on November 30, 2014 in Mesa, Arizona at the age of 85. Marcie worked for many years for Carson, Pierre, Scott and Company as a manager in the Sales Auditing Department. During her free time, Marcie enjoyed working with ceramics and arts and crafts; but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family. Marcie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Gordon and Donald Weldon; sisters Delona Minor and Ovelta Benson and her son Harvey Thompson. She is survived by her loving husband, who she married on August 7, 1964, and spent over 50 wonderful years together, Abraham Thompson Sr. Marcie is also survived by her children: Gordon (Mary) August, Abraham (Angela) Thompson Jr., Michael (Millie) August, Rodney Thompson, Sheryl Archie, Keith (Latresia) Thompson and Jeffeory Thompson, 7 grandchildren 13 great grandchildren and her loving Chihuahua's (Sassie & White Sox's). Marcie professed her faith in Christ at an early age under the pastorate of the late Mary G. Evans of Cosmopolitan Church. A visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00pm with a funeral service at 2:00pm on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 East Broadway Road in Mesa. Interment will immediately follow at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park.
