Marie Helen Bolland

She was born on July 29, 1938, the eldest of 4 children to Ralph and Angela (Piazza) Sobreira in Newark, New Jersey. She grew up in the upper New Jersey area, graduating high school in Bloomfield in 1956. She became a secretary for the Vitro Company. She met Joseph Bolland in January of 1960, through a mutual friend. They were later married on September 18, 1960, and started their family. In 1972, the family moved to Arizona, Joseph talking her into it after 12 years. She has never looked back, loving her life in Arizona. She was very active in her community, volunteering for the American Cancer Society, the election board, serving with the Chamber of Commerce as an ambassador with the Mesa Chamber. Being entrepreneurial, she owned and operated a successful embroidery company from her home, Marco Monogramming. She also had a craft business. She enjoyed painting, and was detailed with her projects. She loved to crochet, cook, had a very green thumb with her garden (working in her garden from sun up to sundown when she could), and was “mom” of the neighborhood, the kids playing basketball with her, and her making pizza for the kids. She mostly loved being a grandma.

Marie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph; daughter Anita Stapleton (Mike); sons, Michael Bolland (Trish), Mark Bolland; grandchildren Josh Van Parys (Nicole), Jenifer Van Parys, Malarie Molaskey (Mike), Leah Stapleton (Neil Gena), Seth Stapleton (Jessica Lovelady), Lindsay Stapleton, Sabrina Bolland, Brianna Bolland, Noah Bolland; great grandchildren Jordynn, Madysenn , Collin, Kaitlyn, Tristan, Riley, Graycen, Reygan, Gracie Mae, Izabella, Shayla, and one on the way; Rhett; sisters, Delores Yanelli (Ronnie), Barbara Banks, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 12, at 11am at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park.
