Marilyn Joann Mahn

Marilyn Joann Mahn (Peterson), 91, of Chandler, AZ, born February 2, 1934, in Chisago Lake/Lindstrom, MN, passed away peacefully at her home on August 19, 2025. Daughter of Oscar A. and Myrtle C. Peterson. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, auntie and friend to many. She was known for her love of cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, cross-stitching, crafting and always making everyone feel special and welcome at the table.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Keith G. Mahn, her daughter, Suzanne Carlstedt of Corona de Tucson, AZ, and her son, Jonathon Mahn, D.O., of Gilbert, AZ.

She also leaves behind her only granddaughter, Kayleigh Carlstedt, of Tucson, AZ, and her 3 grandsons, Ian, Eliott and Austin Mahn of Gilbert, AZ. She is predeceased by both her parents, her sister, Elaine Nelson and brother-in-law Carl “Willard” Nelson, her nephew Greg Nelson, her great-niece Kendra Baumgartner and her daughter-in-law Deborah Mahn along with a host of beloved family members.

Much thanks goes to her grandson, Ian Mahn, who lovingly cared for his grandmother as she cared for him in his childhood and her son, Jon, who managed her care during the last few months of her life, and all of the caregivers and hospice workers who made her last few weeks dignified and more comfortable.

While her time on Earth is done, she will live on in our hearts and memories for an eternity. Services are pending.
