Mom,
If I could have kept you here, I may have for my own selfish reasons. I miss you so much.
 I know it was your time, and you needed to go courageously, after fighting your fight to stay with us.  But, if I could just have one more day in the pool  with you, one more Holiday, one more Mothers Day, one more Sunday dinner with you at the table, in your spot, one more phone chat about American Idol,  get up to get you one more drink, another hug, another "I love you".  ...... Listening to my ipod, and the song just came on "HOME"by Michael Buble.. Another Summer Day, .... I just want to go home.... oh I miss you, you know......  Tears come, and my heart breaks.  I have to know that you are happier there in Heaven with all of your family and friends.   I will always miss you, until I come see you... I will always miss you.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Marge's family.  As a young boy, growing up in Thornton, Illinois, I have fond memories of my “second” Mom, Marge, and my” adopted” brothers and sisters.  I spent much of my time with my second family, partly as an escape from my own dysfunctional nuclear family.  Many times I remember going to see if my friend Jimmy was available to come out and play, and Marge would greet me at the door, only to tell me that he wasn't home at the time.  Marge would come out, and we would sit on her front porch and we would talk for hours about all sorts of things.  The best thing was is she never talked down to me as a kid, but just as a fellow human being.  I always will remember that.  It made me feel respected.  She also knew that I was abused at my own home, and she never “tattled” on me when I sought refuge from my own dysfunctional environment.  Marge didn't have an easy life trying to raise 4 kids on her own, and she did what she had to, to keep her family together and provided for.

After high school, and leaving town to find my way in the world, I lost touch with my second family, and after I ended up in New Mexico years later, I had heard a rumor that some of the “Ermschler clan” was in Arizona.  This was in the infancy of the internet and I tried to find Marge online, but wasn't sure how to look.  I regret not trying harder, but in 2009, Patti found me on classmates.com and we arranged a reunion in Phoenix in June of that year.  I am so glad now that we were able to reconnect.  Embracing my second “mom” after all those years was a joyous occasion, and I am very thankful I was given that opportunity.  Although I am sad now to lose her again, I am also thankful she is now at peace, and no longer suffering her ailments.  Rest peacefully my second “mom”.   We love you!

Oh my, I'm shocked and saddened to learn.  Marge & I grew up in same neighborhood and in the past few years we occasionally kept in touch via FaceBook.  My personal, sincere sympathy to all her family.
